Common Law Admission Test (CLAT)

The Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) is a prestigious national-level entrance examination conducted for admissions to undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) law programmes offered by 24 National Law Universities (NLUs) across India. Recognized as one of the most competitive law entrance exams in the country, CLAT serves as the gateway to premier legal education.

The exam is organized by the Consortium of National Law Universities, which comprises representative NLUs that collectively oversee its administration. In addition to the NLUs, several other affiliated universities and institutions also accept CLAT scores for admissions, while various public and private organisations utilize it for recruitment purposes.

All admissions to the 5-year integrated LL.B. and one-year LL.M. programmes for the Academic Year 2026 will be conducted exclusively through CLAT 2026. Aspiring law students must clear this exam to secure their place in some of the top law schools in the country.
